My name is Laura Drake Cole. I'm a 47 year old Triathlon Coach & Public Defender/Criminal Defense Attorney.

One of my favorite sayings is “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right”

In 2016, at Ironman Florida, I qualified for the Ironman World Championships to be held in October 2017 in Kona Hawaii - this marks my 11th qualification for Kona!" I had missed the slot by 20-something seconds at Ironman Coeur d'Alene in August, 2016, so I was thrilled with my result.

I was also 5th in my AG at IM Canada (Whistler) on a VERY tough course.

In May of 2017,  I raced Ironman 70.3 Gulfcoast in Panama City; I was 5th in my Age Group, which allowed me a spot on the podium.

On June 25, 2017, I qualified at Ironman 70.3 Coeur d'Alene for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship to be held September 9, 2017 in Chattanooga, TN. I am now qualified for the Double Worlds - 70.3 and Full Ironman distance!

I won 1st female overall in the Spring Lake 5k, with a time of 21.25. 21.25 was the same time I have had the previous 4 times I won! This is a tough course. The 1st 4/5 of a mile are on twisty, root-filled single-track trail with soft sand. The course then goes onto the road, and it's either straight up, or down for the next 2 miles. The last bit is flat, with an uphill finish. It starts at 8AM so it is also HOT with little shade. I was 6th overall.
